I know, I know. . . another website to remember. So here's why we're moving sites. Blogger does a good job with things, but we need a secure site that we can really have control over. Basically, we just want to be careful about how we use the internet. So, here's are new site address. www.youthblog.bethesdabaptist.us
See you there!

The Cabin Trip of '08!

The Sr. Highers went to Oscoda, Michigan for our first annual cabin trip. We left Sunday, July 6th and got back Wednesday, July 9th. The trip
was packed with
some pretty
unbelievable events...and here there are.
1) We almost lost Ian and the side-window of our rental van. 2) I did loose my wedding ring in the cursed Lake Huron. 3) John provided hours of entertainment with the purchase of a $1 whoopy-cushion. 4) Ian showed us how to properly remove a leach. 5) Elizabeth was awarded with the quickest dismount out of a lawn chair while evading an explosion. 6) Guys took home the prize for smelliest living area. 7) Hannah was awarded fiercest competitor/gladiator. 8) Bonnie won the prize for longest phone conversation. 9) Bristol and Audrey tied for first prize in the diving competition. 10) Matt provided a top-3 "fall" performance. And #11) Brady's Dad didn't even know he was gone!
We missed the rest of you Sr. Highers who couldn't make it...we'll do it again next year. Thanks to Audrey, here's some pictures for you to enjoy.

Random Happenings
There's been a lot of things going on since winter camp at Lake Ann. Hopefully you haven't forgotten that experience with God!! We'll start things off with Nicole and the girls ready to kick off the Allen Park Parade. . . Thanks to a lot of you for showing up. . . seriously!
Next, let's check out Josh May absolutely starring in his s
chool play Pinocchio! He played Geppetto like the guys played the girls in wallyball!Just another appearance of Ian wearing make-up! Apparently, he had just finished a performance in his high-school play Arsenic and Old Lace.

I couldn't find Pastor Chittock one day, so I did some snooping around and found him down at the ballpark. Stephen Claypool and Divine Child earned a spot in the Catholic League Championships down at Comerica Park. Alth

ough Stephen didn't get out of the "duggs", he cheered really well! Actually, Stephen starts at 2nd and he played a stellar game. Then there's the wallyball activity. Check out Drew's determination and Josh's help-side defense! I do have to give it to the ladies for their never say die attitude, and we'll leave it at that!
Enjoy the pics and videos.

Winter Camp pics

Little Liela had no idea what she was in for...she didn't ride the tubes on the hill but being at camp...up until the wee hours of the morning....was a lot to ask of a 6 1/2 month old.
John VanHouten's friend Luke came. It was really good to have people bring friends. More fun for everyone.

Ian's face pretty much describes walking across camp when it was snowing. We had near perfect weather. Lots of really good packing snow...great for snowball fights. Walking across camp was a little difficult when snow was nailing your eyeballs but it was worth it.

Staying warm...Liela had gloves but just couldn't keep them on if it meant she couldn't suck her fingers.

even more lunch. Liela was a great girl and the girls were extra helpful. Audrey was her second mom especially on the ride home. Liela was hungry and tired and cranky but Audrey fed her some delicious rice and a bottle and then calmed her down like a pro. I am so thankful to the girls for their understanding with my baby. They didn't complain at all when Liela took a few minutes to fall asleep the first night. The second night she was out like I had drugged her or something. I had to miss chapels but the whole group was so well behaved that we didn't worry one bit about me not being in there. I did sit in the lobby for most of them but it wasn't quite the same as sitting with the group. The girls also helped pass her around when I was getting ready each morning. I am proud of Lie for her cooperation but it wouldn't have been nearly as smooth without all of the girls help.
